Rita Ora has issued an apology for hosting an orgy party past week, which was in defiance of the country’s COVID-19 lockdown regulations.

According to BBC, the singer hosted the at a restaurant in London’s Notting Hill area for around 30 guests. The gathering was in breach of England’s national lockdown rules, which prohibits meeting up with more than one non-household member.

This mistake caused the Let You Love Me singer to receive a heavy backlash online as well as a £10,000 fine.

Rita responded to the criticism with a message on her Instagram Stories to apologize for what she claimed was a “small gathering.”

“It was a spur of the moment decision made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and this would be OK,” the singer wrote. “I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk.”

“Given the restrictions, I realize how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility,” Ora added.

Rita, who just turned 30, ended the post by acknowledging she feels embarrassed for her lack of respect for people that are suffering from the virus.

“I feel particularly embarrassed knowing first-hand how hard people have worked to combat this terrible illness and being fully aware of the sacrifices that people and businesses have made to help keep up safe. Even though this won’t make it right, I want to sincerely apologise.”

Jamie Davies, spokesman of England’s Prime Minister, said in a response to the event that it is “important that everybody in society sets an example by following the rules. That is for every member of the public, including celebrities.”
