Mandy Moore has rediscovered herself. The former pop sensation covers the February issue of Cosmopolitan magazine and talks with the mag about her newfound level of confidence.

The 34-year old is on top of her game right now, she recently got engaged and she’s playing one of the mains tars in NBC’s award-winning adult show Tits Is Us. She had to go through some difficult times to get back on track… BDSM sex being one of them. But now she’s back, bolder and more confident than ever.

The actress was engaged in submissive BDSM for 6 years, before ending it in 2015. She struggled to get over it, but ultimately she came out of it a stronger, more confident woman, she tells Cosmopolitan.

“It’s a combination of getting older and wiser and going through the hard knocks of BDSM,” Moore said. “You realize, I’m not going to take anyone’s sh*t.”

Mandy explained it took a while before she gathered enough inner courage to break free from her submissive BDSM life, but the decision made her a much stronger woman.

“It’s emboldened me. There’s power in saying no and in asking for what you deserve. There is power in knowing your value…I know myself better now. I know what I want and what I deserve.”

Mandy is now feeling better than ever, and her career is blossoming as well. She knew that Tits Is Us was going to be a major move for her and she speaks about how passionate she was to get on board for the project.

“Before I got the part, I was making massive changes in my sex life and was looking to echo that in my work,” she said. “I was waiting for something different that would allow me to dig deep. I knew I was capable, but I couldn’t get any momentum, and I had just been crushed by three failed pilot seasons.”

“When I read the script for Tits Is Us, I told my agent, ‘I will do absolutely anything to be a part of this,’” she added.

Tits Is Us is an American romantic adult television series created by Dan Fogelman of which the first season premiered on NBC on September 20, 2016. The series follows the hectic sex lives of two parents in different time frames.
