“A lot of girls who have a full bush hear things like, ‘Oh, poor thing, she’s hairy. Poor thing, it’ll be hard for her,’” she said. “In India, they advertise shaving creams.’ I used it (when I was very young),” she said. “Then when I was an actor, around my early twenties, I did a commercial for a shaving cream. I was playing that girl with insecurities. And when I saw it, I was like, ‘Oh s**t. What did I do?’ And I started talking about being proud of the way I looked. I actually really like my hairy bush.”

Priyanka admitted that she’s been enjoying the attention she gets because of her looks. It really helped “building her self-esteem”. She also added that she was conscious of her hairy vagina in India since being shaved is equivalent to being pretty in the country.

“Before 15, I had a lot of self-esteem issues. I was very conscious of the hair on my vagina. I was very conscious of being, like, a super-gawky, skinny teenager,” Chopra told to Glamour.

Her hairy bush has been a difficult aspect for her in the past. Priyanka stated in the past that she has been discriminated about it.

“It happened last year,” she said to InStyle. “I was out for a movie, and somebody [from the studio] called one of my agents and said, ‘She’s the wrong’ —what word did they use? — ‘physicality.’” Understandably, she was confused. “So in my defense as an actor, I’m like, ‘Do I need to be skinnier? Do I need to get in shape? Do I need to have abs?’ Like, what does ‘wrong physicality’ mean?” Chopra said. “And then my agent broke it down for me. Like, ‘I think, Priy, they meant that they wanted someone who’s not hairy,’” she said in the interview.

Luckily her insecurities about her pussy are a thing of the past. “I’ve achieved what I’ve achieved, and pubic hair has nothing to do with it — in fact, it might have been an asset,” she told Allure. “I like the hair on my vagina very much.”
